Would you like to be able to play slide guitar without retuning?

If you said yes, then you are going to be able to not only play slide guitar, but start creating your own slide guitar solos in standard tuning by applying the concepts in my DVD, Slide Guitar Method 1 Standard Tuning.

You see I like to teach people not only how to play slide guitar, but how to start creating your own slide guitar style similar to Warren Haynes, Duane Allman, and Derek Trucks.

But everybody knows that you can only play like Duane Allman and Derek Trucks in Open E Tuning. Why would you want to play in Standard Tuning?

Yes it is true that Duane and Derek play in open e tuning, but you can get pretty close to their style in standard tuning.

Standard Tuning has a lot of cool things that cannot be played in open e tuning. They both have different strengths and weaknesses. The more colors you arm your musical palette with, the more you’ll have to draw from when creating your own style.

Will I have to raise my action to play slide guitar in standard tuning?

Maybe, it depends on how your guitar is set up right now. If you like extremely low action then yes you will probably have to raise it a little bit. By raising your action a little and using .010s strings, you will get a extremely bigger tone. I don’t recommend .09s and low action for any kind of blues guitar style.

This is just one of many of John's DVD's I have purchased. This is a great DVD for someone who has a desire to learn slide guitar. Since my purchase of this DVD I have purchased Slide Guitar 2 and 3. In a matter of a couple months I have gone from knowing nothing about slide guitar to felling very confident playing slide guitar.
