What are our customers saying about my Blues Guitar DVDs

I have bought many instructional lessons (cassette, cds and dvds) from way back in the 80s. Many have been disappointing. But your latest work (Blues Guitar Method 1) ranks alongside the DVD by Warren Haynes (Electric Blues & Slide Guitar) and Robin Trower (Classic Blues & Rock Guitar). Full of awesome stuff that enlightens, is inspiring and can be enjoyed again and again. - KH

Hi John, I just wanted to write and say how much I'm getting out of Blues Guitar Method 1 .  It's really cool!  I've been putting practice into the scale positions and just starting to work on the licks and I'm definitely seeing improvements.

Just tonight, I've been working with a tab and track of Blue Jean Blues (ZZ Top) and the stuff I've been learning with your material means I've been able to look at this new tab in B pentatonic and understand what I’m doing much better than I would have done before.

I've still got a lot to learn and practice, but your video has really laid this stuff open for me and helped me start breaking out of the same-old blues box I was in! All the best. - Steve

 John,
I have been playing since 10 years old and I am now 51. I play in local bands in Southern California and love the quest for tone. I have studied local pro blues players, cd rom lessons, CD lessons, I have slowed songs down to get the riffs down of certain songs etc....

Then I purchased your Blues and Slide videos after seeing you on You Tube. I have been following the lesson plans you wrote.  After a month and completing the first half of blues guitar 1. I can see and here a great improvement in my speed and voicing thanks to your teachings.

I am now out of my rut and have new  tools to use in my soloing.

Thanks John!

The Journey continues. -Tim O'Connor

I've been playing since I was 18 (45 now), but it was mostly in the '80s and '90s, and I played mostly hard rock (hair band stuff) and acoustic.  I got pretty good at playing songs and solos, but I never really "learned" the fretboard.  I also never learned the blues, which in my opinion is where you should start.

As a result, when I play blues licks and solos I always end up staying in my comfort zone... in one or two boxes and after all these years of playing I find my solos to be incredibly boring.

I put it down for a long time and have recently gotten back into it.  I decided I wanted to go back to basics and learn the right way.

So along with your lessons, I'm learning the Page, Clapton, Gibbons, Hendrix, etc. stuff  I should've learned in the first place.

As for video lessons, I've purchased several over the years.  I find yours to be well done with great audio/video quality, understandable format and rich with explanation and nuance.

I also like that you offer them via download at a discounted price (last thing I need is more media laying around)!  I do most stuff on computer when I practice, so it works out well for me.  Keep it up, and I look forward to your future selections.

-Tim
